Meigle & District History Society
The Meigle & District History Society was formed in January 2007 and it aims to gather and share with its members the history relating to the Village and Parish of Meigle, and the surrounding area where this is appropriate.
The Society has generally hosted a series of meetings with guest presenters during the winter months, togther with a number of outside visits during the summer. Following the suspension of meeting due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Society are now back in business beginning with the AGM on 25 January 2023. The full programme is listed below.

The programme for the remainder of the 2020/23 programme is as follows:

Wed 25 January : “The Incomplete History of Meigle, Part 1” – Rae Taylor (from material from his book which he began to write but which is unlikely to ever be completed, let alone published)

Wed 22 February : “The Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 and its Local Connections” – ‘Dog’ Holden
Wed 22 March : “A Taste for Treason” – Andrew Jeffrey (about the Nazi espionage ring broken due to the suspicions of a housewife from the Hilltown in Dundee)

All meetings take place at 7:30pm in the Kinloch Arms Hotel, The Square, Meigle
